Her inclusion in this year’s judging panel underscores WATEF’s continued dedication to ensuring that innovation within the energy and technology sectors remains practical, scalable, and grounded in real operational excellence.

The WATECH  Hackathon is one of West Africa’s leading platforms for collaborative problem-solving, bringing together engineers, developers, researchers, and entrepreneurs to design data-driven solutions for industrial and environmental challenges. As an accomplished professional with a decade of experience in supply chain management and integrated activity planning across global oil and gas operations, Ms. Bayeroju’s presence will add exceptional depth to this year’s deliberations.

A Career Defined by Precision, Impact, and Purpose

Olamide Bayeroju’s professional career tells a story of strategy, transformation, and measurable results. Over the years, she has worked across multiple Shell entities; Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCO), and Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP), and currently serves as Supply Chain Short-Term Integrated Activity Planner for the Perdido and Appomattox assets, where she manages the short-term integrated plan that aligns logistics with asset performance goals, operational priorities, and corporate sustainability objectives.

Her record demonstrates a blend of leadership and analytical discipline. At Brunei Shell Petroleum, she managed logistics planning for over 50 offshore platforms within the East Asset, coordinating multidisciplinary teams to improve compliance, readiness, and visibility across operations. Her efforts contributed to over F$4 million in cost savings, the design of a Logistics Planning Dashboard that enhanced decision-making transparency, and the delivery of business models that reduced inefficiencies in offshore planning.

Between 2018 and 2021, during her tenure at SNEPCO, Ms. Bayeroju developed integrated logistics schedules that optimized material movement for deepwater production assets, achieving $1.4 million in cost savings and reducing vessel turnaround time from 120 hours to 33 hours in under six months. Her initiatives improved offshore safety and coordination while reinforcing supplier accountability and risk management practices.

Earlier in her journey at SPDC, she was instrumental in transforming logistics and transport operations across Nigeria’s onshore activities. She managed over 300 fleet vehicles, implemented a competence assessment system for drivers, and led LEAN projects that optimized warehouse storage, reduced downtime from 24% to 7%, and achieved annual savings exceeding $1.8 million. These accomplishments reflect her ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution.

Her expertise extends beyond logistics and scheduling to enterprise risk management, operations assurance, contract administration, and budget planning, all critical areas for achieving operational excellence in the energy industry. Her track record in aligning cost efficiency with sustainability outcomes has made her a leading voice in responsible energy management.

Education and Leadership Foundations

Ms. Bayeroju’s academic and leadership background further strengthen her professional influence. She earned a Master’s degree in International Employment Relations and Human Resource Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Kent, United Kingdom.

Beyond her technical expertise, she has emerged as a thought leader and mentor. She currently serves as the Learning Lead for Future Energy Leaders Brunei, where she supports capacity-building initiatives for young professionals in the energy sector. She also champions business integrity as the Logistics Business Integrity Ambassador, facilitating ethics and compliance discussions that encourage transparency in operational planning and execution.

Her leadership approach is deeply rooted in discipline, collaboration, and foresight principles that align with WATEF’s mission of advancing technology and sustainability across Africa.
