Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must fully own or have the legal rights, licenses, and permissions for the innovation they are submitting. This ensures originality and protects against disputes over ownership. Submissions without proper rights will not be considered.
The applying individual or organization must develop the core work of the project. Collaborations are welcome, but the primary ownership should rest with the applicant. This guarantees that recognition goes to the true creators.
Projects must be functional and available in the market for at least three months before submission. This requirement ensures tested, practical solutions rather than unproven concepts. It highlights innovations already creating measurable impact.
Entries should demonstrate originality in design, technology, or approach. They must show clear benefits in solving real-world challenges. Judges will prioritize solutions that deliver lasting social or economic value.
Each participant may only submit one entry per award category. This rule promotes fairness and equal opportunity for all applicants. Multiple entries across different categories are allowed, but only one per category.
Past winners may reapply if their projects have undergone significant upgrades or advancements. The new submission must reflect clear progress beyond the earlier version. This encourages continuous improvement and innovation over time.
All submissions must comply with local, national, and international laws. This includes data privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and regulatory standards. Solutions that violate laws will be disqualified.
Entries must be truthful, original, and free from plagiarism, misrepresentation, or falsified data. WATEF values transparency and honesty in all submissions. Any violation leads to automatic disqualification.
Judges, sponsors, and members of the organizing committee cannot participate. This policy preserves fairness and impartiality in the competition. It ensures all applicants are evaluated without bias.
Applications must be submitted before the official deadline stated by WATEF. Late entries, regardless of reason, will not be reviewed or considered. This ensures a smooth and transparent judging process for all.
